“Out with the Old, In with the New?”

“Out with the Old, In with the New?”

We have embarked on a new year – 2014!

Many make new resolutions which they will keep or at least, try to. Others make promises of living a better life, restoring relationships, and letting go of negative things – similar to the saying “out with the old, in with the new”.

Today, I began to reflect on the events of the past year – the good, the bad, the ugly! Yes, there were certain situations and some relational associations which I would rather not bring into the New Year. You may be thinking “boy I can relate to this!”  However, on giving further thought to this, I realized that even the negative events served a purpose in God’s economy.  With God, nothing is wasted! He has always instructed His people to build or rebuild the “wasted places” of our lives.

You have an opportunity to renew, restore, and regenerate life’s challenging circumstances, not in a way to relive them, but in a way that builds on the learning and insight gleaned from them, and move forward into your future. What are you building on today? Trust God to lead you into His best. If you’ll listen very closely, I believe you’ll hear Him say–“Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is!” (Isaiah 43:19 MSG)

A new year comes with many hopes and dreams. Make it a year to face challenges with confidence in the ability of God. Dare to have faith to move into the bigger and brighter things that He has planned for you and your family!  He does all things well!

I wish you a happy and blessed New Year! Much love!

You Flourish!
